qlmd does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything it does happens on your Mac.
qlmd collects no personal information. The app does not:
Markdown files are converted to HTML and displayed locally, inside the macOS App Sandbox. The Quick Look preview and the app's viewer are additionally restricted by a Content Security Policy that forbids network connections, so the rendered document cannot fetch or send anything — including remote images.
qlmd reads the Markdown file you preview or open, and images that file references by relative path. It does not modify your files, and it does not scan or index your disk.
Your preferences (theme, text size, and the Mermaid, table of contents, and front matter switches) are stored on your Mac so the app and the Quick Look extension can share them. They are never transmitted.
qlmd is a document preview utility, collects no data, and is suitable for users of any age.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
